Welcome!

Thank you for stopping by. Although this blog has existed for many moons without an update, I've moved back in, and I will be updating her regularly. A lot of changes have taken place since my last convention at Mid-Ohio '07. After releasing two #1 issues, I took nearly a year off to refocus on my objectives, and to set new goals for the future of Penny Dreadful Press. I've come to the decision that I'm in this for the rest of my life, and I won't be going away ever again. As a mater of fact, nothing less than world dominance for Dreadful will do, so you can bet I'll be chasing that dragon for many years to come! I have a new comic book in the works called Franklinstein that is shaping up to be my best book yet. Franklinstein asks the question; What if Benjamin Franklin, not Victor Frankenstein created a monster?

Despite the gloomy financial outlook for our nation, hell, the entire world, I remain determined to stay the course, and continue to publish the best fiction I can.

Please stop back and check in on us from time to time. If I'm not here, I can usually be found in my Penny Dreadful Press forum on comicrelated.com. And if you just can't get enough Dread in your life, I can more than likely be reached at the fine Dreadful Links you may have noticed just to the lower right side of these words...

Another review

Alex Haas was kind enough offer his two cents on The Faustians #1 and Gothic Romance #1, combining both issue's into one review. It's not the most favorable review PDP has recieved to date, but I thank Alex for taking the time to give the books a look.

My youtube debut with UVN

Underground Video Network interviewed me at The Gem City Comic Con.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSJqrujezS8

I did my best to keep my cool, but I was nervous as hell. lol
Still- I had a lot of fun, and got to plug Franklinstein!

Thanks guys! You rock!

My podcast Interview with Comic Related

Bill Gladman was kind enough to sit down and interview me at Gem City '09.

He also speaks to Kevin Hicks, Sean Forney, Don Kramer and Mr. Comic Related himself-Chuck Moore -about his new awesome comic Killer Robots Love You

PDP @ SPACE/April 18 & 19

Gem City was a blast! Those Daytonians really know how to get the job done!

I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by the table and picked up a book or two, or just shot over to say hello. As always, my warmest regards to my friend's Bill Gladman and Chuck Moore over at Comic Related- thanks again for always being there for us Indy guys!

The SPACE Con in Columbus is right around the corner, and Penny Dreadful Press will be there in full force! Bob Corby runs a great show, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of this fantastic convention!

I'm pretty sure just about everyone involved with our new comic Franklinstein will be there at various locations; sequential artist Paul Shultz, Dave Watt, Jon Hodges, Jay Fife, and myself. The only one who's missing is letterer Jason Arthur, but I'd like to take a moment to mention him anyway. His contributions to Penny Dreadful's strength can never be overlooked, or underestimated.

We still have a few copies left of the Franklinstein/Jay Fife sketch cover from Gem City, so if your going to SPACE, get 'em while you can! If you've seen Jay's work, I don't need to tell you that this guy is unbelievably talented.

We will also have two brand new ashcans!! One of which, will be our Franklinstein/Dave Watt/SPACE cover edition. Whoot!

I'm floored by the kind response I've received for Franklinstein by one person in particular. His opinion means a whole lot to me, so to wake up and read these words...wow. Just wow! Thanks Bill!

USPOLL (Uncle Samson and the Phantoms of Lost Liberty) is the other new ashcan. It's been a long time coming, but I finally have the opportunity to introduce a preview of PDP's first super-hero book! USPOLL will feature my costumed creations illustrated by a number of uber-talented creators, like Rudy Vasquez, and the man himself- Jim Sullivan! Yesssssssssssss!!!!!!

http://rudyvasquez.deviantart.com/

No link on Jim, but if he makes it out to the show, ask to see his art. He's kicking ass, and taking names brothers and sisters!

Shameless self promotion aside, I cannot wait to see what everyone brings to this show! Comic books are very much alive, and some of the greatest books of our era are yet to come. Yep. That's right! Our era!

The Age of the Independents is upon us!
